1958 Slinger-Leedy

Loading...

I think this was a Broadway model, anyhow I got it out of a music store with original everything, calf heads etc. for $78 back in about 1998. Man she was a looker. Came in an original case and hadn't been touched in almost 50yrs by the look of it. Just thought I'd share since it's so cool looking.

Cool, now that's a mans snare drum! Is it 8x14?

Yes, it was! It also had a slightly oversized shell so it was impossible to get the bottom head to resonate right.. Kinda always sounded choked. A custom made slunk head would have been welcome! For the batter head I believe I had an Aquarian American Vintage that popped right on no problem.

I wish someone would re-pop the Leedy lugs. These are my

lugs of all companies.

There have been some re-issue Leedy's made in the past decade (the brand belongs to Gretsch) and they had new lugs on them so the tooling is out there....somewhere.

Very cool drum!

Would an American Vintage snare side head fit? If one fits on the top you'd expect one to fit on the bottom too...or maybe one of the new Evans 360 heads.
