This is an early 20's(?) Leedy 5x14 6 tube lug snare drum. These did not come with badges. The shell is brass and has has the inverted bead. The shell is in nice condition. The nickel still has a good lustre to it. When i got this drum, it had been painted twice. The paint probably saved the finish a good bit. There is some surface scratching but no dings or damage. There are a few drops of a cream color on the inside of the shell from the first color. The rims are steel and so are the clips. The steel clips allow you to tension the drum to more "modern" tuning without the fear of them breaking like many of the brass ones do. I also have it setup with conventional 20 strand wires for a nice sound. The drum has no extra holes and appears to have all of it's original parts less heads and wires. This model is fitted with Leedy's Utility strainer. It works flawlessly. This drum gives a beautiful sound and looks very neat. Has a wide range of tuning. You could also slip on 6 lug triple flange hoops if you so desired. It has slotted tension rods. If you don't have a proper key for these, they are available. An old coin works good too! Drum has a like new Remo diplomat batter and also a Remo diplomat snare side head. It needs nothing and is ready to be put to work. Would probably clean up even better if you wished to do so. I don't like to go "too" far on these early models when i detail them. This is a nice early American made brass snare drum that can be purchased without hitting the wallet hard.
