Maple Slingerland WMP in great condition

Loading...

Hi guys and gals,

Got a beautiful set of WMP Slingerlands (early 70's) that I'd like to find a good home for. Have always loved Slingerland drums and this finish, but I've got more kits than I need as is.

Kick: 14 x 22

Rack Tom: 8 x 12

Rack Tom: 9 x 13

Floor: 16 x 16

Snare: Ludwig Acrolite w/ a WFL flat base stand

(I know, I know: cross-pollination, but we all know how killer those snares are and I thought it'd be nice to have the option of getting the kit with a vintage snare. If you'd like the shells w/o the snare, that's just fine).

Drums are maple with reinforcement rings and are about the warmest sounding ones I've heard. If I had a stand-alone studio, I'd use these as the kit.

I added an extra set of Slingerland bass drum spurs (as it only came with one set) and bought 8mm Gibralter wing screws for them so that they all matched. Have two that came with kit but not sure of their origin.

Kit is all original with the exception of the bass drum batter head hoop and the tension casings/rods, and the two triple flanged hoops on the resonant side of the 12 and 13 tom; all others are Slingerland stick savers. Also, I created the resonant bass drum head to sharpen it up a bit. A few of the tension rods here and there might be replacements, but I'm not completely sure how to tell if they are or not.

Any and all questions are welcome. My starting price with the snare is $1,000 but I'll entertain any and all reasonable offers. If you know anyone that likes vintage kits and would want to point them my way, it'd be much obliged!

Hello!

This should be in the FOR SALE section truth be told... as that seems to be your intent? If so, I shall move the post .. but! .. you must put in an asking price, as those are the rules on the VDF. You can entertain private offers of course!, but a price must be listed. THANKS!!!

Super nice kit for anyone. Could be the last vintage kit you would ever want to own. (But we all know we can't stop at just one...)

Thanks for the nice words! Yeah, I'm kinda surprised it hasn't sold yet. Hoping I have someone make an offer soon; if it's not out of the guest room by summer's end I'll probably have to start sleeping on the couch...lol!
