Is that bracket available in stores or did you custom make it.

Also, is that a Ludwig tom holder on the bracket.

The whole thing looks custom and really nice and clean.

I also have older 40's toms with that bolt pattern for the original bracket.

No, it's not in stores. It's something I came up with as a way to mount two toms on a single modern stand using the L-arms. I had a machine shop make up adapter plates that I designed so that I could use an off-the-shelf Ludwig Keystone tom mount.

So the "ISO" part of it seems to be that your custom mounting plates sit atop urethane bushings.

Are you using urethane bushings on the inside as well? I'm curious, because the urethane bushings might be a cool little non-invasive mod to do on vintage shell mounts.

Float the original mounting plates on a soft urethane pad or bushings to decouple them a bit from the shell.

Do they bounce at all when you strike the drum?

Correct - this design is nothing more than an adapter plate that allows me to mount an off-the-shelf tom mount onto my 1940's tom. I am using hard rubber conical bushings I found in a hardware store in the plumbing isle as the isolating element. There are no bushings inside the drum itself, only a washer/lock washer/nut. Right underneath the adapter plate, I am using a hard nylon spacer (closest to the plate) and then the bushing which touches the drum (don't want to scratch a vintage drum!). The nylon spacer supplies a rigid support for the screw. I have it torqued down only as much as required to prevent it from wobbling. I did have to add a rubber piece on one of the tom mount screw heads to create a third point of contact and to protect the wrap finish. You see, no matter how tight you screw this assembly onto the drum, two mounting points by itself is not completely stable - I had to use a rubber third point of contact to ensure stability - much like the way Sonor incorporates their ISO mounts (I've attached a picture of Sonor's mount system to show what I'm talking about). Because this third point of contact is under the adapter plate itself, you can't see it in the picture of the two toms I originally put up. I'd like to add that on the Sonor mount, the third point of contact is actually screwed/fastened into the shell. Mine simply rests against the shell since I did not want to drill any holes in my toms...

Wow ! Great job, and the fact that they got a face lift while not having to drill for extra holes, and the 21st century Ludwig mount, makes this kit unique, practical, and awesome looking all at once.. Classic and beautiful looking kit..

No, the Atlas is an ISO mount made to replace a lug (either a small or large "classic" lug), which accepts a tension rod. The Keystone is purely a tom mount. I'll post pictures showing the difference between the two. Also worth noting is that the Atlas mount is around $50 and the Keystone mount is around $20.

Wow, I'm really digging everything about these drums. The mounts are very clean. The flat Imperials and WMP are my favorite vintage look. Sweet!
