Take away the private lives of all the members, lets think about what each member here has contributed to this forum. Forget the the drugs, the being banned from other forums, does it really matter? Were here to discuss drums, that's it. We should not care about ones private life or what happened to them in the past, it don't mean ****! What should be recognized here is the knowledge that these members share and everyone does a great job of that. Take away the drama and you have an excellent forum here. If you look at what John has done on this forum you will see that he has posted some very impressive drum restorations and has sent free gear to several members, he is a nice guy that clearly knows vintage drums, period. So I say, John, let it go, we don't need to hear any of your past. And the guys that like to bully him, knock it off, it don't mean a thing and know one cares but you.

Very well worded Jeff and speaks volumes about your not being judgemental in any way, shape or form and your words speak the truth here in this situation.John is an outstanding and very informative member of this society and carries with him a fantastic knowledge of vintage drums and great generosity in helping other members in need on the VDF.I also love his "old time expressions" which he has remembered from them being passed down thro` the generations of family, brings back so many good memories to me personally.

As to what David and TommyP are doing here with zero tolerance of personel discrepencies is needed and their patience on this matter has been long lived and they have finally had to bring the gavel down before this wonderful forum goes the way of many other forums.

John, you are a much needed member of this forum and i hope you will find some kind of forgiveness in your post being wiped as no doubt you searched your soul on every word you typed and i saw the thread. That was a very difficult choice of words for you to make and i thank you for your honesty and integrity.

So in final, let the "nay sayers" and "yeah sayers" in this matter come to peace with each other and may this great forum remain the focus of what we all love and share-the "knowledge and love of vintage drums" and that IS one common denominator that we all share.

My Personal Best To All,

Wayne

The problem is that John accused me and a few others of spreading rumors about him. I can't speak for the other guys, but I had no idea about what had happened to him on DFO and frankly, I don't care, it has no business being discussed here or anywhere.

johnnyringo,i too have had my share of blame and accusations in life as we all have...that`s life, and i absolutely respect what you are saying. All i know is that all you guys are my drum brothers and i respect each and everyone of you equally.I`m just a regular guy that enjoys our forum and will never take sides on any issues of personal interest. My BIG HOPE is that somehow... you guys can sort this out in a diplomatic/forgiveness manner and somehow move on in this forum to the way it was originally intended to be used.Always enjoy your posts johnnyringo and i`ll look forward to many more...

Best to you my drum friend,

Wayne

I'm kind of bewildered; I have no recollection of seeing any of the sorts of accusations or rebuttals that seem to have led to this big controversy (and I don't care to know, either).

I don't think I'm a noob any more; do I just have a really good selective memory?

Any one hear that I found my missing drum head art!!

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I did. Where did you you find it?

I asked in a previous post.

I am derailing the thread.

Sorry.

Glad you got it back.
