Hi all,

Please check out my ebay auction for this incredible cymbal. I would be willing to take down the listing and do a private deal for any member here with a reasonable offer.

Dig pics/auction: [ame]http://www.ebay.com/itm/22-K-Zildjian-Istanbul-HOLY-GRAIL-TONY-WILLIAMS-SOUND-/181756536167?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a5188a567[/ame]

Dig the cymbal's sound on "Silvertrane" and "Theodore". http://www.organic-jazz.com/music/

Thanks guys. I will answer any questions both privately and publicly.

It's not you... eBay links DO NOT WORK with our software/OS on the VDF. Not sure why that is, but something changed on the eBay side, and links no longer work. So!...

You will have to type in the auction number here, and the membership .. if interested .. will hop on over and check out your item!

Key factoids:

ebay item: 181756536167

era: New stamp (see http://robscott.net/cymbals/k-istanbul/ if you haven't got Rob Cook's The Gretsch Drum Book where one Bill Hartrick has a timeline published but only in print) which Bill places at 1967-1977. I suspect it is what Bill calls a Newer New Stamp but I can't say for sure because it is down to the (undefined) size of the gap between the Arabic part of the stamp and the English part of the stamp. If it is one then 1972 - 1977, but only Bill can say. Which on recent form, he won't. But he might chime in.

weight: 2400g (approx)

Hi Morgan. Long time to see.

ps you can follow the link in my signature to see my work on prices of 602s. I don't separate out ones ink stamped Medium in the analysis (very few) but obviously they are special and will get you in the higher part of the estimated range. PM me if you want a special analysis done. All part of the free service.

Man, brother! That's some really great playing! Love it! And the cymbal sounds great too! I've never used so many exclamation points!

Hey guys,

Thanks for the replies. The stamp type is, I think, the later one you're talking about zenstat. The other one I have (the one I play all the time now) is the 59-64 stamp type. I will update the auction. This is still a really great jazz cymbal.

As far as the Paiste goes... it looks weird and sounds awesome, but I know nothing about Paiste cymbals. email me? morganchildsmusic@gmail.com Thanks man.

Cheers,

Morgan

The auction number is 181756536167. Thanks guys, and thanks for everybody who replied and/or helped spread the word. You can also hear the cymbal (maybe at it's best!) on the track "Po' Boy" from the Organic site. It's only the one track that's a ballad that doesn't give the best idea.
