Yes, we've had some sparring. Rarehobbs is my ebay name. Hiding absolutely NOTHING.

I work very hard to get things correct in my listings, guys. I offered advice to Gary a few times about his listings. But he has not changed the way he does things. Simple things. Easy things.

O, I think I was wrong here ...Only it seems worse than before. A few years ago I fell back standing straight up on ice & hit my head so perhaps my memory has been jarred (no flowers please); I should be dead. As a child I had to go to special reading classes because I had reading comprehension issues probably because my home life was ghastly. I can be a mother-____ because I've dealt with a LOT of crap in life & simply will **** you up if you're a liar, sneak, a$$hole. All the above is true ... so I have a special place in my heart for the kids who were picked on because they were different. How did I 1st learn of Gary's SBP snare? Here, on the forum, where it was for sale. I looked up all his posts because I recall now that it came up here 1st . In 1 post: "now I have a museum drum rare seial too ill sell it serial 100001 skb" [BOLD is me]. So the snare went from MUSEUM to MINT to PLAYER.He also listed his OBP db snare for a whopping $1750 on this forum. Yikes. No one bit so off to ebay where shill bidding ensued.I went further into Gary's posts. He began one at PRECISELY EXACTLY the time I was asking all the ?'s on ebay with the title "drum grading" - you ALL should read it; it's not long. The EXTREMELY salient point here is this, written by Gary himself. I quote: "picture are the key to define quality, poor pics lack definition ... most of us geezers here were around when some of the drums we covet, were brand new, and now we see there aging and know the difference while others of a younger gen don't quite understand ... I personally don't no ever will sell a drum with out a fair and rigorous grade, going from my experience, I know whats up with 50's/60's Ludwig (some earlier stuff too) when I sell something I accurately grade the item as to flaws in and out of drum ..." (SIC)He posted this because I was the one asking about the SBP drum he had. When I asked, on ebay, specifically what he meant by MINT/MUSEUM & said I want confirmation in photos before I do anything, the LISTING DISAPPEARED off of ebay. This was Sept '14 ... shoot forward 3 or so months and that's when it was back on ebay, MINT, etc.I have sold SHOWROOM drums over the years to Brian Blade, to touring drummers around the world, and for fu@%sake Gary knew exactly what he was doing ... & more precisely NOT doing here. Enough with the Kanye-like protection of Gary. Gary should exit the forum for good and he knows it,Chris

You said shoot,... OK,.... Skipper`s not look`n.

Dude came in here wanting us to pick apart a drum he is selling for $400 something....Got the best advice right away from VM2K, "the drum needs work and everything about it is a dime a dozen.....Someone thinks there is a leak in our hull cuz of some Facebook sh*t that aint our business when all he asked for is condition and price.

So stop pumping out water that aint coming in.

We know all that sh*t......as VM2k pointed out indirectly by not touching on the price yet,.......

That was all you had to say. You go postal to quickly ! I am not in attack mode believe me you would know when I am. I myself have a good ebay track record. Have worked hard to keep it that way.

Yeah, V. You're right I get heated now & then. I guess I'm waiting for the backlash from the I LOVE GARY camp because he's one of theirs.

This forum is NOT for arguments - but this is one Gary brought on himself - twice in 2 days, removing it the 1st time (or the administrator did). It's outrageous of Gary!

This forum is about helping members, sharing - which is exactly what I normally do. Gary's not honest & all I'm doing is proving it. Enough with the frowning dogs, the I got this, I got that. He wasted my time; others' time. Integrity matters.

Is it lost on anyone that Gary has 2,902 posts?!? By that point one should no longer be a dilettante.

I've believe I've kicked the soapbox beneath the bed on this one - Chris

Its a fair question to ask for someone's rating on the bay or other sites. If the seller is legit and has integrity, there will be no hesitation in surrendering your Ebay or other site reviews. Nothing to hide in other words. Rating systems are designed as a peer-review, reputation building exercise. Lots of value in that process..

i have only a few thought on this drum and the one that sold (obp )it went to seaside1111

and hes very hapy with drum left pos feedback i dont know him other tha a drummer in cal i met him at drum show back a bit and sold some hats to him a very nice guy he offered 1400for drum asked me to invoice him and i told him it has to run its course to many issues with deabeat bidders and such he got drum for less i have private because of some flack from othere members here and did not wanti ng them to bother my customers , that being said , i have a template i have been using, changing a few words here and there and did not intentional mislead any one on the skb snare even though if its a good drum but your right as one who says to be mint i did not see or disclose the lifting of drum seam till i was called on it as i did not look close either way it was evident in pics so they showed it , i also have another sbk thats in very nice shape get hte 2 mixed up so many drums not enough time , i reall am a soft touch refunding this is the first time i have ever had to do this you dont sell since 19998 with 100 % feed back being a crook I never wanted to start this rift it ooks like to me some people are so involved that there fumming over this for get who we are for a moment and think on what we say about people here and how we react to the threads started it turns into a war , for what something so demeanig as a stupid listing gone bad it happens sh*t happens i try and remedy the situation i did not even get to ship the drum for the last sale as because of all the raving going on he bought it this time for 335 and does not want me to ship it as i can see why for one lousy sale, everyone turns gunshy i asked seaside to chime in and talk about how nice i restored that obp downbeat and hope he will i look at it as if this is the end to my selling then i accept it maybe its God will i dont

but i really did not want this to b;low up like this I can only try to move on and say not a bad thing to anyone as there all right Peace be with all again i really did not mean to offend anyone so please friends can we try to change it up lents coming and its tim e for all of to reflect but most of all no more fighting on this forum i most likely will stop selling any way and go with consign ment to a big seller to avoid any hassle , peace and sincere friendship to all i ask for forgiveness if i offended you hobs and jazbo ...hobbs i ty for your advise i wish i had the time to have done it it would of made a big difference sin the last 4 weeks ive been working 12 hours a day after being off since thanksgiving and have no time to even be on line time for bed and good night to all see u all soon I wont go no ware this is fun keep one blood boiling

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

From Wayne Brown

There are alot of members on this forum and of course we`re not always going to agree on everything and that`s one of the reasons for forums in the first place. The VDF will have it`s share of discrepences like any other forum will have, but if we can`t forget at least try to forgive... We all share one thing in common which is the love of drumming and the sharing of vintage drum information and that`s what makes us drum brothers on here.I don`t know what`s going on between the two members here so i`m not going to stick my nose in and try to referee the situation, but we don`t want to lose any of our members here and that means jayhog and jazzbo.I`ve thoroughly enjoyed reading both of your posts over the time i`ve been here and i hope that will continue as we want you both to stay with us.Sooo...i wish my best to you guys in hopes that somehow, someway you`ll work this out and remain our drum brothers on this wonderful forum. In today`s world of turmoil i wish you both peace...Wayne
