I picked this up on eBay a while ago.

It was advertised as a 60's stand.

There is a sticker on it ( maybe factory?) that is worn but I can read son - thinking maybe Dixson.

I can take some close-up photos later if need be.

It's aluminum and there is a large wingnut under the base to tighten the legs.

Anyone here know what this is for sure?

Makes sense, the seller said it came with a 66 Slingerland kit but he didn't know if the stand was Slingerland.

It will look good with my late 60's Pearl kit

Thanks

Slingerland, Gretsch & perhaps a few others. Don't know the complete history but each company sold the same style stand(s) that originated from another manufacturer. Had 1 or 2 & sold one not long ago. Nice stands actually,

Most definitely a first generation Slingerland 33F cymbal stand. The second generation included beefing up the section of the middle tube where the T bolt is used. Also, the tilter was then chrome plated, also using the more familiar T bolts.

There is always the fairly safe copout for 50s and 60s hardware to say that it's very likely that the hardware was an OEM piece. Most OEM hardware was made by Walberg & Auge or Camco for just about all of the major brand drum companies.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

The standard issue wingnut on top has been replaced with a milled aluminum knurled nut tightener (2 sections which fit together) for the vintage Camco cymbal sizzler! The center is threaded 1/4-20" the same as the tilter top threads. It has two side by side square holes in the center. Finding the missing two aluminum arms fitted on their ends with rivets will provide you an additional very cool vintage item!
