Bet this sounds great but to me this drum looks like it hasn't been played in years. Like the Tin Man before he was oiled :)

I've been playing this snare every weekend this year at shows. Here's a photo of me playing with my band Screamin Daisys at The Village nightclub in Lancaster PA. You can see the snare peeking out behind the mounted tom of my steampunk drum set.

Cool setup. Wow. Talk about leaving a drum in complete vintage condition :)

I replaced the heads and snares and just cleaned everything else up. I own a vintage guitar shop and when it comes to old guitars in original condition you don't want to mess with them. A refinish on an old guitar kills it's vintage value. I feel the same about old drums. I'd rather use a drum with it's original finish no matter what condition it's in rather than recovering or refinishing it.

Unless of course someone else messed with them previously which is what happened with my steampunk set. That set consists of a very old stripped Leedy bass drum and some 60's Rogers Holiday shells that were used and abused. All of that was done before I owned them. I recovered them with that wood looking wrap and painted the non original lugs and rims.
