Vintage Premier Kit Restoration (1940's???) Last viewed: 3 hours ago

Would love any info anybody has on this kit particularly the tom mount and external bass spurs which Ive had trouble finding anywhere else.

I recently had it restored by Mark Orr in Melbourne Australia as previous owner covered it in a vinyl type wrap that whilst looking ok seemed to choke the sound of the drums substantially. (It was not a proper drum wrap).

A more accurate description of the kit is provided in the album I've put up here...

Nice drums! so the green wrap you removed? I remember a similar premier wrap like that from the 70's. I have a john grey & sons set with similar lugs. I can't source a drum key for the lugs. any idea? those are awesome. Enjoy!

That is an amazing kit! I love them in the natural wood finish.

Beautiful job. I know an elderly guy who has a set like this, maybe a later 50's model. He doesn't play anymore. I've made an offer to buy it from him, but he won't sell. I would love to buy it from him and fix it up. It's just rotting away in his shed.
