Ludwig Early '60s Kits

Loading...

Do any of you Ludwig experts out there know whether the company factory-issued kits in the early '60s that featured bass drums with clear shells while the tom and snare shells were painted white?

Any "words of wisdom" would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!

Yes, that's very common. Bass drums with maple interiors while toms and snares usually had mahogany inner plies (under the paint).

Well actually , Yes ,there was a transition on productions iI have a clear base pre serial bd 's s part of my 14x20 blue noter kit 1961 so yes its possible

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
