$400 for a set of Kent drums aND there is no snare drum? That's not a good deal. For $400 you can find a Sling or Luddy which are far better made drums.

Though Kents are intriguing you are correct. A superb Slingy kit 1970s can be had for $400 if you look hard.
if you look in the first pic there is a snare drum so I don't know what snare is there
Jeff , I dug your restoration thread you did on your set . I am interested in the fact you have never even played the set . Why is that ? You did all the work on them . And why would you think that a Kent set would not be a great gigging set ? Quite the contrary actually . They are much more than just a conversation piece . Hell , VDF member Mouse plays many of his Kent sets out all the time . Donnie
Hi Donnie, thanks for the kind words on my restoration. I still need a t-rod and claw for my bass drum so I never got it tuned to play plus its missing the spurs. I guess I just have so many kits and projects going that I only took enough time to get these cleaned up for a pic. And I was debating on re-cutting some of the edges that are kind if flat. But at that time I was just so busy with jobs that I ended up putting them back in the closet 90% completed. I have too many drums and cant seem to have time to set them all up and play them. But I will get around to setting up the Kent's and playing them, just don't know when. But I am done buying drums, well unless I see a real cool kit for next to nothing, then I have to buy them.
As far as my comment on gigging them goes, I think of mine and how the wrap seems rather delicate and the fact that that the Kents are not too common make me think the drums would be safer at home and not being dragged around from gig to gig. So I guess what I meant was I wouldn't want to risk damaging them. Thats cool that Mouse gigs his kits, I guess I need to give more credit to the sturdiness of these drums. I do like mine a lot and now you have me wanting to set them up and play them, so , I thank you for that!
Thank you!

Hey Jeff ,
Thanks for the reply . And I hope you do get em complete and play em .... Yeah man just cut a 30 degree round over on them and you will be surprised . I will look and see of I have an extra t rod for a 50s set . I know I don't have a claw though . I think they were made by W&A so you might find em under that name . You could get some 3/8" stainless rod and use that for the spurs if you cannot find any or until you find some . On my drums I use coated Remo Ambassadors on both batter and resonate sides . My wife says I have more than enough sets of drums . Yeah right there are still other wraps I don't have yet .
