I have this kit listed on eBay. I just want to make sure my description is accurate. Please take a look. I have many pictures posted in the ad. All feedback is welcome. Thank you.

Big R XP8, Memriloc floor tom mounts and legs have been replaced with Fullerton Cast and Hex legs. Not an uncommon thing to see. 1979/80. You are correct.

Ploughman,

I remember the first-year 1976 Memriloc sets still had swivo knobbies and hex legs on the floor toms. When did the floor toms finally adopt the tube legs to match the rest of the Memriloc hardware?

Any idea as to why this occurred with the floor tom legs? Thanks.

Not everyone liked the floor tom hardware. The legs could tend to splay out a bit with age. The hole pattern is the same for both mounts, so it is an easy change.

The Swivomatic legs were used into the Big R/Memriloc era, for about a year, until the M/L legs were introduced. Any drums wearing the Swivo legs after that were probably changed...

Mid to late 77 transition.... by early 78 all floor toms had the new Memriloc mounts. I have swapped them off on a couple 1978 era Five Ply drums myself. And I have an 18 ft that has them now, but the 16 was a slightly earlier drum, and it has the cast/with hex legs. If I decide to keep those, I will swap them.

Nice drums at a decent price. I have one question for you. Why limit your potential field of buyers by offering local pick up only? My opinion on this is that you're making a mistake by doing that.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

I thought I'd try a local pick up first. Then, I am planning on auctioning them off. I was trying to avoid packing and shipping them. Shipping will cost about $150.00, depending on the location. These are some heavyweight drums. Thanks for all replies. It is much appreciated.
