Ludwig Drums at the Gig Last viewed: 3 hours ago

Here's a few pictures of my newly restored Ludwig kit at a gig on Saturday. The drums look great and sounded better, if that's possible, than before the restoration.

Looks great Mark. Nice room to play in too. Hey I see you have one of the newer Zildjian A's. What size is it and how do you like it?

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Thanks, I actually have three newer cymbals in the lineup. The only vintage ones are the hats. I recently acquired a new A Zildjian 20" medium ride, it's thinner than the previous models. It has a great feel, nice wash with plenty of sick definition and is very crashable. Here's the rundown from behind the kit....

Zildjian 16" K crash.

Zildjian 20" A medium ride.

Zildjian 18" Armand medium thin crash.

Zildjian 15" hi-hats.

That's a really nice cymbal setup. The Armands sound really nice too. I have read the new A's were somewhat designed from them. No idea how true that is. Good to hear the specs on the 20" A. I'll have check one out sometime. I think overall Zildjian did a nice job on these.

Thanks, but it's not actually a virgin kick, it has holes for a rail mount and cymbal holder under the wrap. It also has a hole for the badge as well as the floor tom, I just need to find some.

Good job on the kit. I enjoy hearing that you play your kits also. That's what they are for!
