I happened to be watching Simon Phillips playing with Toto last night and it seem he also was playing left-handed on a right handed setup. Maybe he's ambidextrous?? He was playing a set somewhere in the count range of yours.
Again, I hand it to you with the reach thing. I have all I can do to reach 4. I don't even use two up because it places the ride too far out for comfort and I have more often than not selected to use a 20,12,14 for the same reason, though I have the 22,13,16 on board at the moment. I'd lose every fill trying recover from the distance you're playing over. Of course, that is what separates the pros from the weekend warriors.
