I'm partial to '79s. 6-ply before the problems started...

Hi.

I am interested in what problems you are referring to.

Cheers

I just sold some 50's WFLs to Electric Lady and those have some of the sweetest sounding tones. Just wonderful shells. Between those and the 70's clear interiors, I'd say those are the best.

My opinion is 1961 to 63my 62's

Definitely not 1967 . I ordered my Oyblu Super Classic at the end of 67 and got it in the spring of 68 .

Discovered years later , after removing the 9x13's tom holder , an extra hole . Apparently somebody drilled for the badge in the wrong panel . No problem , just mount the tom holder over it and nobody will notice . Duh ! QC non exisitent .

I don't know what the best year could be, but I'd certainly say the 60's was the best decade.

Very nice, I've got a WFL snare and it sounds fantastic. I have no idea what the model is. It's just a mahogany, 14" x 6.5" 8 lugger. Could be a super classic? It has a P83 strainer, so probably not.

This Electric lady is 3 ply, Mahogany, poplar, mahogany?

Wouldnt it be fair to say that the mid 60s were not only the peak era for ludwig but drums and music in general? When rogers switched from bread&butter to beavertail in late 63/early 64, george way becoming camco in 61 right and gretsch always being at the tpp of the heap... zickos being popular in the 70s and the yamaha 7000/9000s in late 70/early 80s....in fact I know its offtopic but can someone please tell me the dif between those 2 yamaha's?
