This has to be rare or it's been faked. I found a 70's Green 14 X 10 Ludwig Concert tom with a B/O badge serial # of 1462169. Never seen one before and I've read that Ludwig didn't use serial #'s in the 140XXXX range. Anyone else ever come across a B/O Badge Drum like this. Check it out.

My green vistalites have the pointed B/O badge. The serial #s are 992xxx. I don't know if that helps you or not.

The grain on the serial number section is different from the grain where Ludwig is printed, I say it`s a fake badge. The other tell tale signs are on the right side of the badge that are not showing......

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

That is the first serial number between 1400000 and 1500000 that I have seen or heard about since I started gathering numbers.

I wish two things - 1. that the entire badge was pictured to better judge its authenticity and 2. that the highly unusual serial number did not appear on a drum that has been so often faked. Why didn't this show up on an acrolite?

I would like to know more about this drum.

Rick

Is it a 'modern' vistalite? Ludwig is reusing the B/O badge on the new vista's. Is it one of the new ones?

John

Too many great drums to list here!

If you look at this chart, this badge in question has the wrong paint and grain as the fake badge showed.

That`s why I think it`s faked.

I did notice that on the badge. It kind of has an orange peel texture to it. Kind of like what you see on factory painted cars. They call it orange peel.

You should contact the seller Rick. Ask them If they can send you a better pic of the badge. I'm sure you thought of that.

The more I look at it the more I think it might be a reproduction badge. The only think is is the Grommet looks authentic.

Good point. I wondered why the entire badge wasn't visable.

That makes more sense.
