moonlitedrummer, your room is way to neat and organized (nicely done), I think my room has that " I have too many irons in the fire" look. What a fine mess! One of the pics is a walk in closet.

oyster blue pearls AND sky blue pearls?????!!!!!!
mike
yes Mike, you are correct. I should take a more organized pic. I'm always digging out drums and looking at them and so they don't always get put back where they belong. So many of them need good heads and are not really in playing condition. I need to stop buying drums and focus on the ones I have.
Robyn, see what can happen in just a few years! You have a great start.
Hope your not mad for hijacking your thread, I guess you got us in the show your drum room mood.
Thank you!

No worries jeff. Im glad to see others post. Maybe i should of titled this thread as ..."show off your drum/music room(s)" and i know how easy it is to accumulate quickly. So far i have acquired 7 kits in the past two yrs.
Thanks for the kind words guys and advice. I still got a ways to go b4 my room is complete. I plan to set-up the mapex kit i got from my uncle in the opposite corner. Then got the PA and guitars to set up too.
EMD....that is probly the most organized music room i have ever seen, thanks for sharing.
Robyn
Very cool Robyn, and those red sparkle Luddies look great.John makes a good point about raising the bass drum and the rug.Lowes and Home Depot has indoor/outdoor carpet on the cheap(15 bucks) which is perfect for that. The only other comment I have is to change out that pinstripe reso head on the 13" tom.A single ply ambassador will really open up that tom,and let it sing.
Other that that, play em' till your hands bleed.Clapping Happy2

Yes you are right steve, john has a very good point. I do have some carpet i plan to cut down to set under each kit, just got in a hurry and anxious to set them up. Once i get the room completed ill post an update. And ill make sure the kick drums are off the floor, i actually know better then that, shame on me, ill take my punishment. lol.
The Luddys do look good, dont they. I plan to have scares on all knuckles when i die from banging on ALL my drums :)
Robyn
Robyn - M.O. arrived! We're half way home!!!
Thanks,
John
Are we talking about a red sparkle snare drum here? If so the Robyn will have a killer set. Just goes to show how being a respectable member such as Robyn can get you tied in with the right guys.
Re-cap
Robyn gets good deal from member Surface (Nevin) and was able to put the kit on a lay away plan.
Robyn receives drums from Nevin, John sends complimentary new heads.
Robyn buys some excellent Atlas stands from Manny for a great price.
John gives Robyn a sweet deal on a snare drum to match the kit. At least I think thats what is going on.
And somewhere I think John gave Robin a Speed King pedal, not an old dusty one from a box of parts but a nice shinny re-built one.
Did you hear the word Ebay here anywhere? No you did not. This is what the VDF is all about, members helping one another. Yes, its not all free but once you establish yourself here you have a the best access to advice and eventually purchasing parts, drums, cymbals or whatever you need from nice reliable people that will always bee here for you.
Vintage drum forum, simply the best !
Thank you!

Yes Jeff we are referring to that red sparkle snare john posted on my older post. It is a very nice drum and i cant wait to add it to the family.
Your recap is dead on, (somebody has been watching me, lol).
Heck, who needs ebay when the best drummer buddies are right here on this great site. Thank you to all my VDF buddies. And Jeff...thank you very much for your kind words.
Robyn
Jeff - I own a ton of drum stuff, much more than I need. I never talk about it, but robyn is not the only one I have looked out for in terms of equipment; drums, cymbals, stands, parts, etc. It's not something I do to get recognition, credit, or attention for. More often than not I request that the recipient not mention it in the forum. I do it anonymously for the most part with people who I genuinely like and who I try to help and encourage to continue playing. I think you'd be surprised at the number of responses you'd get if you asked, who has Purdie gifted drums and drum stuff too?
I do it because it makes -me- feel good to do it. I get more pleasure and gratification out of it sometimes than even the person on the receiving end! It just feels good to share my good fortune with people I like and that I consider to be my good forum buddies.
No applause... just throw money! LOL
John
