once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

i'd be reluctant to spend a grand on a snare drum with an ebay seller that has zero feedback.

It's just after tax return season. Prices always jump up at this time of year.

The wrap and hardware on that drum are in pristine, original condition. You don't see many wraps from that era looking so fresh. There's a reason for the $1000 price tag. Obviously somebody wanted it real bad.

+1.Agreed,the condition is just beautiful, but that is a premium price for that drum.Lets see if it's relisted due to the buyer backing out.

I sold a sky blue pearl a few weeks ago that had zero fade and no issues. I priced it at 550 and discounted the end price some. it was not on ebay however.

Mike - which one, the Pioneer, or Jazzfest? J-Fests in real nice condition from that era bring in $550. The price you got is right in the wheelhouse. If you got that much for the Pioneer then that's an impressive price for a six-lugger.

I'm actually not surprised. The economy is picking up a bit, people are starting to buy a little more and these old kits are only going to get rarer and increase in value as time passes.
