Think I've nailed it...Carlton 1935/36 Catalogue, although mine is hand dated 1940 on the underside of both heads. The 'Green' is listed as "Greenwood Pearl" and mine is either "Silver Butterfly Wing" or "Black Pearl".The box of hardwear that came with my snare has all the supporting Console and Trap fixings and the original snare stand, cowbell, woodblock and kitchen sink.Hope this answers the original Mystery Green Snare question once and for all.

This only has eight lugs.

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

And your point is?

Both Mystery Green snares and mine and the ones listed in the catalogue are all 8 lug?

There were also choices of hardware finishes, either Nickel or Chrome plated. It appears both mystery greens are chrome and mine's nickel.

Mine also has the Baker Lite air vent.

This and all the supporting Trap fittings is prety conclusive in my eyes!

Oh, My bad I thought I counted ten on Coopers.

I found this Carlton Standard online and it does look very similar. The throw, clips, Can`t tell about the tube lugs being flat because my eyes are not good with screens.

I`m also reluctant to think those hoops with the engraving are not for this drum. The snaregate don`t quite line up with the throw and that`s pretty easy stuff for drum factory. BUT, I also have no idea how much play is in those tube lugs, especialy when they are short like these.

These all very well could be Carlton.

The offset snaregate is a set up error as you position the hoops where you want them.

Not sure about the engraved hoops, may be that the early '35 had them but wrere phased out overtime, who knows. What is worth mentioning is that the Carlton 1935 catalogue was the only range they did upto the 2nd world war when they stopped production. After the war they recommenced production with a new line and new catalogue so I'm sure that through the five or sixyears there will have been some changes to manufacturing techniques.

Not doubting your knowledge Cooper but in your original post, the drum you pictured had 8 lugs or am I missing something?

No. I just went down and counted the lugs, as I thought I was losing my mind. Definitely ten lugs.

Same here. ten lugs. No sign there was ever a badge on this drum.

Ed68's drum looks like it has 8 lugs.
