Rogers re-wrap question Last viewed: 2 minutes ago

If you want a finish that "pops", I would suggest a Glass Glitter. I've attached some pictures of a 4.5x14 shell I wrapped in Turquoise Glass Glitter from Jammin' Sam. Uses the "tape method" to adhere the wrap to the shell, which is certainly a less expensive alternative to completely gluing the wrap. Glass glitters are pricey, but do "pop" outdoors and under stage lighting.Mark

That color is stunning!

Nice looking wrap work ID4F. If MCD likes that, he could also consider this one from Precision that is turquoise, but an oyster version:

Aren`t we lucky that we have so many choices-alot of possibilities here and a sparkle wrap of your choice in any colour would jump right off the stage day or night.

The sparkles are best for popping. There is no doubt about that, and the glass ones tops. Just have to decide if you like that traditional look or not. I've been using a blue glass glitter '66 Rogers lately, and Wayne is right that day or night it shows up very well. I was at an event last weekend that had a lot of US flags; red, white and blue lighting, etc, and it was right on target for that particular venue. Of course, red or silver would have worked fine too.

My favorite wrap to "pop" out on a stage is Silver Glass Glitter. A few examples have been posted recently, and the effect under color lights is stunning. Even at the back of an unlit stage, the silver still jumps out, moreso than any darker pearl finish. An added bonus is that Silver Glass was a Rogers option, so the set would still appear stock.

I re-wrapped a floor tom on a Rogers kit that a customer picked up at a tag sale. The modern glass glitters don't quite match so I looked through their custom colors and found one that match real good. If you go with a silver sparkle let me know and I can get you the custom color number so you can make it look as close to their color as possible.

Good luck on your rewrap. I rescued these drums and everyone loved the colour from Jammin Sam. I sold them and the buyer was blown away by the look of the kit. When I opened the garage door he said "wow". BIN.

with the lugs swapped out for pearl ,it doesn't really matter value wise

quality wrap is about 200 bucks ,contact paper around 5 bucks,

i did a rogers players kit with destroyed wrap ,replaced w wood grain contact paper, and it looks ok,save money for cymbals!

there is some cool automotive wrap worth having a look at for more choices
