Thought I would check the computer last night while my wife took the dog outside. Here was a craigs list add for a vintage Camco set for sale three miles away. I called the guy right away and made plans to look at them today. This morning I emailed him at 6am then called at 7:55 to say I will buy them. I couldn't sleep last night thinking I may have missed out. But the guy was nice and told the other callers that I had first dibs. Ended up he lives right next to the John Deere farm that I grew up on and he knew my sister.
Anyway, I bought this silver sparkle Oaklawn kit in 20, 12, 14 and a COB snare drum. It came with some Zilco, Beverly, Zildian and Sabian cymbals, stands/hardware, hoop for floor tom, Pearl Kick pedal, Ludwig throne and some bits and peices.
The drums need some help but will clean up good. Bass drum is the worst, it has a funky tom mount bolted to it, looks like there was once 4 sets of spurs, a large piece of the re-ring is gone, one non original hoop and all front claws and rods look wrong.
Floor to is missing the bottom lugs and muffler maybe?
12" tom need some correct lugs, I dont think there will be extra holes in it, but not sure.
Snare drum, looks perfect to me.
Okay, so they are not perfect but I will enjoy hunting down parts and fixing them up.
Here are the drums, I have not cleaned them in any way yet.
