Feel fortunate I was able to meet him around 18 years ago in Melbourne,Australia after a Hessies Shed gig...

Rod, Artmus Pyle is one of my fav's! Can't go wrong with some good old southern rock that's for sure! Dereck Hess from Rossington Collins band also a great drummer. And a fav of mine also. So many others too. Fred Edwards, Paul Riddle, Butch and Jaimoe and the list goes on.

I find myself clicking around YT some days. One thing leads to another. Came acorss this 1975 John Tropea tune "Muff" (LOL) with Steve Gadd and Chris Parker on drums. David Sanborn on alto sax too! Love this 70's funk and fusion stuff. Had the album way back when. don't think it ever made it to cassette or CD. So this is a old vinyl track. Enjoy!

when I heard Ian Paice's Drum Solo on The Mule from Deep Purple's Made In Japan some 25 years ago. I new what direction I wanted to go in with my playing.

This is The Mule from Copenhagan in March of 1972. A few months before Made In Japan. Paice's Playing on this one is just as good.
