Good grief!! Not vintage gear?? Last viewed: 3 hours ago

Jeez. I feel like I need a meeting of VHA (vintage hardware anonymous).

I've been trying this n' that for hardware. I thought I was locked into the Ghost pedal. I tend to play heel down, and I dig the push 'up' the Ghost gives. Perfect. Right on.

So I'm listing a Speed Cobra pedal on ebay, and gave it a good test drive.

Uh Oh. I prefer the new hardware over the vintage. Swivomatic, Ghost, Tempo King, Speed King.

It can't be true!!!! I just can't get my head around this...

It can't be true!! I'm gonna go tune up the Speed King!

I know, it's like, what's next, velcro sneakers to replace my Chucks?

Maybe you could have the IC powder coated in light green hammered?

Um...... I have a 60's Speed King. It's so light in my hardware bag, it looks so beautiful(the prettiest pedal off all time) and I have it dialed in great for my foot. So I use it a lot. But in truth, I'm sorry, I really prefer my chunky DW5000. I'm never selling my SK though.

I don't miss the days of cymbal stands falling over, snare stands bouncing and tipping, bass drums creeping and BD pedals squeaking. My grandfather played with a snare stand that was more like a music stand...And aren't most of the modern pedals just Gretsch Floating Actions or Rogers Swivo-Matics anyway?

Love old drums. Hate old hardware. A friend who went to NAMM says that DW have a new range of super-light hardware with some alloy components coming out. Let me tell you - I don't care if I have to sell a few vintage drums to do so, I'm into a full set of that stuff the day it shows up. Sign me up now for a bag of it.

I use those stands and yes they are incredibly good, and relatively cheap too. You will not go wrong with them.

I'll stick with the Hamiltons or flat based Ludwig cymbal stands for light weight...the Rogers one piece footboard hi hat. And I gotta hang onto the Speed King, the Ghost... well, all of them.

Curious about the DW light weight... but $$ is a thing, ya' know? Still, where would I look?? Just curious...

I love my Rogers Swivomatic cymbal stands, telescoping cymbal rods, and that amazing ball joint tilter. I admit however to using Iron Cobra pedals, and DW 9000 series stands with all the Memriloc Rogers.
