Buck Rogers, Ludwig? Last viewed: 20 hours ago

I'm not super well versed with the Buck Rogers snare stands so I've been asked a question by an eBayer I don't know the answer to. The question (basically) is; How do you tell a Ludwig Buck Rogers snare stand from all the other companies who put their own version of this stand out. Here's the one in question. What do you think? Thanks for any info you care to share!

arrggghhhh. I procrastinated for about ten minutes and let that one slip by me on ebay. if they have second thoughts on the purchase, please let me know. i'll take it. that one is the Ludwig model. I think W&A made them for all the big companies. there are various designs. that one matches the one in the 64 Ludwig catalog that is listed as the 1358 buck rogers stand. grestch had a model but it had a flat base on it with the flat round rubber legs.

The buyer isn't completely convinced that this stand is in fact Ludwig and I don't know how to prove it (or if it's even possible) so I've offered him a partial refund which I'm OK with. I would, however like to know how to tell for sure if a Buck Rogers stand is in fact Ludwig in case another comes my way. Plus, I'd rather he be convinced it's Ludwig so he can be totally happy with his purchase.

The base looks like the Ludwig ones and the wing nuts look like Ludwig, is there anything else to look for?

I personally don't think there is a Ludwig Buck Rogers snare stand. There is a W&A sold by Ludwig AND most of the rest of the big drum companies. Therefore the Buck Rogers stands are interchangeable from company to company.

Ludwig collection of sets and pioneer snare drums.
Example of Rogers,Slingerland,Gretsch,Premier and Ajax sets.
Various '60's and '70's US,English and Japanese snare drums.

there are substantial differences in the ones sold by the different manufacturers. most of the difference is in the leg/base design. ive got one from rogers and now a ludwig model, completely different,as is the gretsch model as well.
