Hey, everyone nice gifts! Vibes, I love them red Bevs.

No drums for me but my wife gave me a cool little metal case containing ten guitar pics with John Hiatt's autograph on them. She had snuk out during a concert in Iowa City last summer to purchase them. She is a cool wife, so lucky to have her.

Nothing here, but Purdie, so you look like Geddy Lee? This can drummer does. Lol, but super cool gift. And I covet those red drums. The 11th commandemnt..(Hou shalt not covet thu neighbors drums.

My wife said she was thinking about getting me a black beauty but I'm glad she didn't. She knows nothing about drums and wouldve been a sitting duck for sellers outthere.

And jaghogs. Champagne kit? Wow what a gift!

LOL - No! The thing has long hair and a beard. People are going to come over here and ask me why I have a tin-can sculpture of Jesus playing the drums! Falling Do

Hey Purdie,

I know how you feel.. around 20 years ago one of my sisters gave me this one.. also around 15" tall.. she said it reminded her of me at the kit..

Now days every time I walk past it, I am reminded to check in at VDF..

Cheers

No drums for me...My two sons pooled their resources, The three of us are headed off to see the Doobie Bros concert here in April.. (good venue too, not too big)...I must have done something right, to have sons like this pair.. I'm a happy chappy..Cheers

how cool is this. nothing beats father and sons teaming up and doobie bros no less

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Santa was wise.

I got a tune bot, a spray gun, a buffer AND, a dandy little digital level for setting the blade on my table saw(just the thing for cutting staves for snare drums).

Correcta-mundo in the woman dept.!

The best present I ever get, and I get it all year, is from my wife. When I practice everyday she dances to my playing! I can hear her moving back and forth as the floor boards squeak overhead. She encourages me to play and then she does these spontaneous, exuberant dances while I play. I've never had that kind of love and support (in terms of my drumming and my incessant buying,) from anybody else in my entire life.

I agree... our greatest gift is the women who put up with us and even act as enablers for our shared obsession for drums. I am grateful for her.

Thanx, Bev for my statue and for all the love you give me all year long.

I didn't get drums this year but I got something just as good in my view.

An 18" bass drum head that belonged to the late Elvin Jones - 18" Custom made by Yamaha.....Elvin Jones - The Jazz Machine.

I also received one of the tee Shirts made exclussively for Elvin Jones Jazz Machine for the performances between 1975 and 2004.

The shirt and head came with letters of provenance from the late Mr. Elvin Jones wife - Keiko Jones.

Thank you Santa! :Santa:

The sticks (Gretsch) in the photo I bought last year. They are used - used by Elvin Jones and they also came with a letter of provenance from Mrs. Jones.
