It's not often we get to meet other members in person, 2 years ago at the chicago drum show. Gary (jaghog) had the booth right next to mine, ever since then we have been wanting to get together. the other day we had lunch, shared some holiday foam and a toast. great fun. what a great guy and friend, witty, sense of humor, and a real (ludwig) drum guy. Gary is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet, even though he types in shorthand LOL....the story of how he met his wife is a real classic!!!!

Gary, keep the battery charged on the HD, we will do some riding this year!!!errrr I mean next year

I agree. I met him at the show two years ago also. Just missed you and your giant Slingerland kit (bummer). But Gary did let me bang around on his giant stainless steel Ludwig kit, boy that was cool, thank you Gary! I spoke with Gary at the last show also. Hope to meet up with you guys in 2014.

Thank you!

A real testament to what a great guy Gary is, is this: The guy I bought the Black Beauty from, Tom wrote me an email after the transaction, (get this) - to thank me for sending Gary to check out the drum. Tom went on about what a nice guy Gary is, how it was a pleasant experience for him to meet Gary, etc, etc, etc.

He didn't have to tell me. I've known Gary as a forum buddy first at DFO for a few years and now here at VDF. Yes, he writes like a Chinaman on crack, but he's one of the very nicest people I have met in the forums, I really like Gary and I consider him a friend.

It just left an impression on me that a stranger (Tommy) would take the time to write a note thanking me for introducing him to Gary. That really says something about our jaghog.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

"at" typing, not "on." And no you're not! LOL

Hey man, I always get your meaning even if I have to read the $hit twice! Not to worry. Your friends are your friends and we all understand each other just fine.

You deserve a 'pat on the back' thread! So, sit back, stop blushing and take it like a man!
