Well, Maybey I should check them out. I thought the same thing, Ludwigs lugs for sure. But the tom holders do not look Ludwig. I know the owner and I asked which direction the wood grain runs inside the shells, he said it does not go hoop to hoop. So now I am wondering what these are. I might check them out tomorrow.

Thank you!

Blue diamond pearl is usually MIJ, but I have never seen that particular shade. Big rerings and a modern tom mount (relatively, anyway). Those look cool...

Jeff the 12" tom looks to have mahogany interior? The 13" and 16" looks maple. Maybe a rewrap? And worth a look I think.

Glenn.

Metal bass drum hoops usually indicate a stencil MIJ. Does look as though it has some re-rings, rather large too ala early Slingerland. Worth a closer look at least for cymbals too.

Weird snare.... strange looking strainer and vent hole near the bottom rim. Also note that it looks like the two bottom tension rods on the bass near the floor are straight rods, not T-rods (more common to imports).

I think it was Mikey that said these Ludwig "bootleg" lugs are Pearl, made for a very short time before they were taken to court for copyright infringement. And the snare is probably Pearl-that vent placement is right for 80's drums.

Thanks Tom, the owner said the snare is a Pearl but did not know what the drums are. I did not have a chance to go look em over and most likely will not. I have had a horrible month, two deaths. Grandmother day before Thanks Giving and now a best friend yesterday.

I take time to look at this forum every morning becuase it is a fun way to start my day. And when things like this happen it cheers me up to hear guys talk about thier drum finds and restore projects. I just wanted to say this so you understand if I dont respond to my own post.

Everyone please have a wonderful holiday season. Enjoy your families and take care of yourself and all the people around you.

Merry Christmas from Illinois!

Thank you!

Jeff - so sorry to hear about your month and all of this loss at once. Hope and pray you fare well and that the rest of the year is better than now.
