Hi All,

I have a set of late 1950's Slingerland "stick-saver" snare hoops, but I'm not sure if they're chrome over brass. They're on a 15" marching snare. Would Slingerland have put them on a marching snare?

They do seem heavier than typical hoops. Is the magnet test accurate? [meaning a magnet wouldn't stick?] Thanks!

Yes, in the case of hoops the magnet test is accurate (not likely they would be made of aluminum).
