Ludwig arch spur measurements? Last viewed: 3 hours ago

Loading...

Hi!

Yesterday I bought a Ludwig Stainless Steel -kit (24, 13, 18) + Slingerland Sound King snare for 480 US dollars (yes!)

Bass drum is missing arch spurs (later thick model) - can someone please tell me the lenght of the spurs and the correct arch angle? I'm planning to buy some square 1/2 inch steel block from a hardware store and manufacture the spurs myself. Of course it's not the original but I guess it will do until I find the authentic ones.

Best drums on the planet. Here is a link to a large size spur, they also used the smaller one, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ludwig-1-2-Bass-Drum-Spur-70s-80s-w-Ludwig-angled-rubber-foot-/221321125697?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3387c45f41

Thank you! I'm located in Scandinavia and shipping from the US is quite expensive and many sellers don't even ship to Europe. I'm looking for the measurements to manufacture DIY-spurs and use them until I come across with real ones.

Where do you live??? I need to move quickly!! Should be the "promise land"D' Drummer

ps. Tip from a "poor drummer".... you can use some thick curved aluminum piece to recreate the spur.... I did it and it works for a long period, till I found a original on fleabay at a razonable value

Ludwig '67 Classic B.D.P.
Ludwig '79 Classic Pro-beat
C. A. F. '72 New Sonic "The Argentinean Ludwig"

I live in Finland. Luckily I was online around midnight when the kit was listed to a local music discussion forum. I was like Eye Ball and called the seller immediately.

I don't have the drums with me right now, so I need the length of the spur and arc angle to recreate the spur.

WinterMad,

I'd like to see pics of your DIY spur making. I assume you're heating the square rods and then bending the correct radius on a pipe bender? Good luck with it, and let's see those drums when you get them.

Haha, kiitos Heraldo! Asun itse Tampereella.

I went to a hardware store today and bought 12mm (almost 1/2") square iron rod. I'll try bending later this week - let's see how it turns out.
