I say 3903 because of the inside stamped number seen through the badge hole. March of 1939? What is this particular model called? The hoop on the one pic looks it's been modified because of a short tension rod...ouch. Looks like a beautiful drum! Is it possible to get snare wires for this and where? I'd like to fix it up.

If The stamped date was as you stated 3902 that does make it a 39 model. can you post some inside pics of the shell, also show the rim issue you mentioned?

It's 3903 and the 3rd pic shows where the hoop had been ground or notched out for the claw with a short tension rod. I'll get some more pics.

yes, 1939 Feb model. she is a beauty; clean it up Novus polish the shell. Oh man that is terrible what someone did too the rim, you would have to wood putty that for a repair job. You asked about the snare wires are yours original's ?

Think I've found some snare wire pics of what may work but there are a couple of styles. Not certain which one would work. I'm guessing the one on the left.

A couple other issues I've noticed taking it apart.

The same hoop that was notched is cracked from the screws that were at some time replaced? I think this because they go through the hoop a little. The other side does not. Also the claw that was in the notched area has been ground away for some reason....ughh.
