> "When did you get this one?"Guilty as charged! I hear this one... a lot. :pFunny stuff, I thought it was just me.John

Oooops... I meant to respond to this as well.

In all honesty, I buy and sell so much my wife hardly even notices! But, I've got a pretty good deal with her, because countless times when she's out doing the rummage/garage sale thing or when we're in Wichita or Tulsa and she's doing the Goodwill thing, I'll get a call from her with her telling me "they've got some drums here..."

I LOVE IT!! (Her, too of course... we celebrated anniverary #36 last month!)

HA! These are great... we're all cut from the same cloth. I've used each and every one of these responses / excuses!

Bill: THE REMODELING IS OVER! Well, kinda... now we're doing the new furniture thing. Some of that involves me refinishing stuff... sigh.

mchair303: I'll have to remember that situation. Her birthday is coming up in January, and our anniversary in December. I'll remember this, and avoid it.

A new snare (to me) sat in it's shipping box for nearly two months over the summer, whilst I was deep in the throes of remodeling tasks.

I've owned a mid 70's Gretsch jazz kit (20, 12, 14 w/COB snare) for nearly a year. It's still waiting to be restored, and I'm retired! I should have time for this!

I found an unopened shipping box containing a Zildjian 14" crash the other day while cleaning out the storage unit we rented during the renovation. I've honestly no idea about it. It came from Goodwill in the mid west, and was shipped to me last April. I have no recollection of buying it, or what I paid. It's a nice cymbal, though... kinda like Christmas!

Last Sunday I found two boxes containing mint Ludwig Standard cymbal and snare stands... I do remember buying them off eBay, and I did open them when received. Then I promptly re-boxed them and stored / forgot about them. Like I said... Christmas.

"When did you get this one?" Yep, I hear that plenty. Or, "I thought you were going to flip that one..." as you set it up at a gig.

Yeah... keep this going! There may be some excuses that pop up that are great ideas, or at least new to me! Mind Blowi

Drove to XXX city last week and brought a very nice looking Ludwig amber "Bonham" vistalite set home. My wife told me" "I though you already had a Bonham set" I went: "Well that's the Natural maple set but these are the most iconic ones" then she said "Wasn't the green sparkle set the iconic one?"..."err...hmmmm...Well...I guess... but these are a little bit more iconic...and since they're a reissue theyre going to last more in good condition!" She gave me the "Yeah, right" look and went back to his book...:p

2nd clue : When you're paying monthly for a storage locker to house your extra gear in, and it's FULL

I was about to say that too! I moved 27 sets out my house to an storage place and I still have two sheds full o parts, cases and heads...A 4 car garage full of complete sets, snares, cymbals, singles, hardware, shells, parts, etc, etc, more parts in the attic (mostly cases), some stuff on the cart port (mostly old Japanese stuff) and I always need to make some room on my little recording studio in order to play or practice with my band...D' Drummer
