Hello all, I just bought a 60's ara Ludwig4 piece kit and i'm having trouble telling what model and year it is. thanks in advance for any help.

look inside the shell for date stamp. Is the inside white ?

49459 serial number should be 1964. good stuff! should have red felt baseball bat mufflers and chrome over brass hoops.

My opinion: Someone who's buying this kit will likely not be a hobbyist who needs to have new heads on this kit, it'll be a serious drummer/collector who knows what he's buying and will probably be picking out a particular type of head for those shells. I wouldn't necessarily bother. Since you will likely be removing the heads to clean the edges anyways, you might leave them off for the buyer to check the shells out. Again, my opinion.

It`s looking like a Down Beat, but that`s too many holes for a missing cymbal mount. The two extra on top are a puzzle too, What mounts with one screw ?

Maybe they swung the cymbal mount around, that would explain the one hole there, but the top two IDK !i
