Junk Yard Rescue - Leedy Dreadnought Floor Tom & Lyra 60's Japanese Snare

Howdy Folks -

After stumbling across these drums in a junk yard over in East Texas they stayed in my mind. I'm a guitar player, not a drummer. But they seemed cool and it seemed a waste for them to be in the back corner collecting dust with iron cookware stored on top of them.

So, several months later, I went by there last weekend and they were still there. And I imagine they have been there a long, long time.

This time I decided to see how much it would cost for him to let them go. Here's the guy:

So now I've got these two drums which almost seems to be two too many for a guitar player, but I'm not opposed to piecing together a cool oddball vintage drumset. But if there's someone out there that might appreciate these more than I then that would also be a cool place for them to wind up.

Please let me know if you are interested. I also read the rules first so hopefully there are no violations of forum protocol here. I'll close the post when it's run its course.

Thanks!

Thanks man. I thought so. I couldn't leave them there. The first time I visited the skin floor tom head was actually in good shape. Just in between my last visits the head was ripped due to an old iron pot being stored on top of it. If I keep it I'm going to put new skin on it myself, just like I do with my banjo.

Not being a drummer I felt I better let the buyer pick out what he wants to do with it, such things being personal and all.

Either way I'm determined to see that they are played by someone appreciative.

Cheers!
