I was wondering if anyone can suggest any factory's worthy of a tour in the states, I realize that modern production of drums is not what it was, with that thought in mind, perhaps none of the plants are worth seeing them make production line crappy kits, but maybe someone else has other impute based on experience or knowledge, please come forward.

The Ludwig tour is a great one. they make only the top of the line kits, and yes they really do make the shells right in front of you, also the drum heads, Monroe NC.
I think a while back there was a member that mentioned that you could still tour the ludwig plant. A few years back while in Vancouver bc i got to tour the AYOTTE plant now that was so F@#%ing cool , Monsieur Ray Ayotte him self gave me a Ayotte teeshirt it took years!! before i gave into my wife on let it go.

Apologies, my humor runs dryer than the Sahara I am afraid.....
Mark has posted pics of some killer drum sets, i.e. some nice Duco's, stainless kits, etc. He has been selling some stuff lately, stating that it is just collecting dust and should be used somewhere, if memory serves me correctly, so I was making a funny, that obviously wasn't that funny........Falling Do
The fact remains though, that a "tour" of some of these members drum stashes would be much more fun than any factory or museum, IMO. They would probably actually let you have a few swings at some of the kits!
Slingerland, here is the Number for the Ludwig appointment. 704-289-6459
While in Canada, check out the Dunet factory in Vancouver. It looks just like a garage but apparently he likes to disguise the factory that way to keep the autograph seekers away. I,ll be there this fall on business and i plan on taking the gar...i mean factory tour myself.Jump For Joy
