I recently purchased a 13" Liberty snare drum and I'm looking for some information. I read Liberty was bought out by Slingerland, but I didn't see anything about different types of drums, equipment etc... any info anyone? How about a bass drum to match my snare? I don't have the snare here yet, so the pictures are the ones that were sent to me.
Liberty Drum information anyone? Last viewed: 4 days ago
Liberty Musical Instrument Corp was a short lived enterprise, c. 1926 to 27. Their drums were made by Nokes & Nicolai. Slingerland bought them out & probably exhausted their existing stock of instruments & parts very quickly.
Here is an aluminum piccolo (this has a changed out Ludwig Piccolo strainer).
Liberty made drums, banjos, banjo ukuleles, & distributed various other instruments. Their products were very different from Slingerlands, banjos, banjo ukes, etc.
I 'm guessing that you will wait a long time before you see another Liberty drum.

Very cool drum! Looks great! I know that finding a bass drum will be tough, but I'm hoping this will stir the waters enough for one to come up.
