Started playing drums and taking lessons in 1967. My 88 year old former drum teacher is still alive and I chat with him every week-he still has 10 students. Have carted my 1967 Ludwig Psych red kit all over creation. Recorded an album three years ago with a local artist and still play with him-have even heard the songs I played on on the radio-opening up for the Outlaws in a couple of weeks. A guy at work is a serious collector and showed me a Tama bell brass five years ago-fell in love with it. Then learned how rare they are and how expensive they are. Got a call Monday night from someone who wishes to remain anonymous and asks me to meet. Said person hands me a 1984 Tama Superstar Bell Brass snare-tells me life is too short and we aren't getting any younger and some dreams should not go unfulfilled.Tells me to enjoy it and thinks its marvelous that I am still so passionate about playing and rocking . I never cry but guess what-only drum forum members can really understand the magnitude of what this person just did. Played it last night-what a thrill and what a drum.

What a great story. Your Karma must be very solid. As Buddha says "Good will come of good" Enjoy that drum. Someday in the far away future, pass it on if you feel the urge. All the best.

Great story. It's up to us to continue to bless our fellow man with random acts of kindness. Your teacher taught you more than just rhythm and blues, my friend!
