rogers floor tom knobby mounts-dating Last viewed: 8 minutes ago

when did the switch in the design of these 2 mounts happen? when the move to fullerton happened? or earlier?

was there more than one iteration of the 2nd type? higher and lower quality or weight?

I bought a tom with the 2nd type. the seller claims it's dayton but I think it might be fullerton. there's no tag in the drum.

thanks

The machining and hardware was a lesser grade..and changed again at the 9/72 series that came out in 1972..#1: http://sgrecords.net/ftp/drum_stuff/rogers%20leg%20mount%20%231.jpg#2 http://sgrecords.net/ftp/drum_stuff/rogers%20leg%20mount%20%232.jpg

Rogers didn't begin casting knobbies and collets until around 1972, I believe. My first Rogers kit was a Celebrity model, purchased in the summer of 1972. Came with all cast knobbies and collets. I'm sure there are others here who can nail down the year more closely.

Bottom line is that Dayton drums still used machined parts.

The above is correct, any Daytons came with steel mounts.
