60s Zildjian Hihat Hi Hat TOP 864 grams Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Loading...

Offering a 1960s Hihat cymbal - 14 inch - flawless. Sooth edge - no flea bites, no keyholing, no cracks, just a great cymbal. It is quite resonant when crashed with my finder on my hand. 864 grams.

I have a late 70s pair of NewBeats and I prefer this 60s top to the NB top, but I must sell off this 60s top because my NB top has my initials stamped in and the stamp indeed is too deep, resulting in what might become cracks. (first one I stamped and did not realize I was stamping too hard until I flipped it over when I was done.).....anyways - point is....I have a great sounding NB top, and I prefer this 60s top as it even sounds better (slightly higher pitched than my NB top which is 765.) It's all preference I suppose - I just wanted to give a little perspective I guess.

This will go on Ebay - but I am offering it here at a discount. First come first serve - whether that is ebay or here - I must honor the first to buy.

(On ebay - 69 plus 14 shipping) HERE: SOLD $57 plus actual ship to your zip SOLD

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

what weight bottom cymbal did you normally play with this one?

Hi Mike,

I have only had this cymbal a short time, but what I have played it with is my late 70s New Beat bottom, which is quite heavy (probably around 12-1300 grams).

It is not that much different from my NB top (which is 765 grams), just a hair heavier and higher in pitch.

As you probably know - part of Zildjian's formula of success with the New Beats was a 2:3 weight ratio top to bottom.

that's why I was asking. I just picked up a 60's avedis 14 loaner. its 1200 grams and is stamped new beat bottom hi hat. was wondering what would be best to match it up with for optimum new beat sound.

my other 60's and older hats are mostly factory matched pairs at the same weight.
