64 Ludwig wmp club date kit in Dallas Last viewed: 48 seconds ago

Anyone close to Dallas looking for a cool vintage kit? I'm listing this locally for a friend, he's asking $1200.

The kit has the original white marine pearl wrap that has yellowed with age. The bass drum has the original drum rail and "telephone dial" tom mount. The bass drum is missing 3 or the T rods & claws for the front hoop.

The floor tom is 100% original. The 12in tom is all original with a new Remo head. The 14in snare is in good condition. Someone replaced the strainer throw off and muffler with newer aftermarket models. They didn't make any new though, they just swapped them with a direct fit. The kit came with two old snare stands, the buyer gets both. The bass pedal is a vintage 60's Rodgers #399 "Jet" pedal, in good shape.

Floor Tom sn: 77695

12in Tom sn: 76714

14in Snare sn: 76268

20in Bass Drum sn: 76763

1960's Rodgers "jet" foot pedal

Can't beat the club dates for sound, but boy those have yellowed.

Nothing like my all-time favorite kit (so far)...

By the way, how are those babies doing MME?

It's missing a lot of hardware too.

Wow they look sweet when they're taken care of!

The yellowing on this kit really looks awful with a flash, while it's a bit better in person ...it's yellowed more like an aged 50's set. I Guess that's just heavy UV damage?

I didn't think it was missing to much hardware, other than the snare replacements it's just the bottom tom rings and bolts. I've been keeping an eye on ebay for three 7in club date rods and claws, one guy has them for $15 each plus shipping. This kit is mostly together and I'd hate to see it parted out. So what do you think I should I suggest as a fair asking price?

that could be a great kit. year i was born! looks very restorable to me. the inlays are too wide. weird though because they match the drums perfectly in terms of wrap fade. must have been with the kit for a long time..

Well, as a point of reference, I sold a blue sparkle kit here, minus the snare, that was complete and the wrap was in better shape. I sold it for $700.

I agree with you 100%. If I was to buy everything as is in its current state, top dollar I'd pay is about $800-$850.

Cool kit though! I'm sure it will find a good home. :)

It had the wrong bass hoops on it, I located that 20in set of 50's Leedy & Ludwig hoops for him. The main reason I picked them up was because they were such a good match to the fade, they fit well.

We setup the kit at my house so buyers can check it out, way better than his apartment. It's posted on craigslist and it's already had an couple of offers in the 8-850 range, I figured keep it posted for at least a week before taking an offer.

Thanks or the info.

el-, wondering if the bass drum is reversed for a reason. You should flip over the FT & see if the leg mount holes are modified--most Club Date FT's came with different mounts, which have a different hole pattern.

All comments about issues aside, it's a very cool kit. Is out of my price range at $1200 plus shipping, but if it looks like it might come down, PM me. I'm lookin' for a wmp kit. Looks great......marko
