LMAO! Unfortunately, I got that joke! lol

Yah, I got the "My 3 Sons" reference too, and MCDrummer's cannoli reference to "The Godfather". Guess we're showing our age here with such references, along with the fact that we're all talking about death.

Having no children, I plan on finding worthwhile homes for all my drums long before I die. When the time comes to move into that small condo in Florida, I'll pass them onto someone who will truly appreciate them, play them, and care for them. You can't take 'em with you, although I do want a pair of sticks in my hand when they lower me into the ground, cremate me, or jettison me into space (whatever's popular at the time).

Sidenote to our resident custom cabinet maker:

Jeff, do you think it's possible to build a casket covered in WMP with hinges made of Rogers beavertail lugs? Now that would be my way of going out in style!

HA! That's great Mike! And actually deserves it's own thread! Yeah, we'll get Jeff to do it! Green Glass Glitter for me (I'd prefer Avocado Strata, but there just isn't any of it) and Ludwig Standard lugs please!

No problem, I can build anything you want just send me a Pm and I will tell you where to send the down payment. Your average coffin starts around 3K if I remember correctly so a custom drum wrap one should be some where around 25k Im guessing. Just let me know, I can do discounts on multipul orders so you guys get together and get a mass order going, Il get right on it!

Thank you!

See there! VDF's own bearing edge and coffin services! Your slogan could be 'Coffins, with and edge'!

Nope, don't throw money... it's all okay, all gratis...

I might suggest an inventory list that looks something like the linked document done in Word. It was done with the aid of the original 1967 Ludwig catalog I ordered the set from. If I go before my wife, this one letter sized page would be enough to get her started with a fair market sale. My oldest son is underwater on a sub and the younger will have no interest in the drums other than their resale value.

Not to go O.T. but...

> My oldest son is underwater on a sub

May bands of Guardian Angels surround him and protect him and bring him home safe. Tell him when you see him, we all appreciate what he does on our behalf. The guys who keep watch at the gates deserve our deepest gratitude and respect.

Tell him I said, Thank You!

John

Too many great drums to list here!
