So I'm in Guitar Center today looking at a used kit... green sparkle Slingerlands.. re-wraps... nice, but I passed. The young fellow at the counter approaches me with this "stick card" deal or something close to that. I can't remember the details but it was like you pay $20 and get $5 off a pair of sticks every month.

I told him... "Sounds like a great deal for somebody but I can't remember the last sticks I broke"... as he walks away he says to other young man behind the counter... "If you're not breaking sticks you're not doing it right!"

So that's why I never hit the big time... I NEED TO BUST SOME STICKS!! Falling Do

Relax, he'll learn. We all did... there was a time in all our lives when we were prone to saying stupid things. Ahh, youth. Some outgrow it, some don't. All part of the learning process.

Things overheard in guitar center!!!

I heard a salesman say they called him "the hammer" and he was proud of that title, he went on to explain that he broke an entire set of cymbals about once every six months and he was proud of this fact too!!!!What???

It's not just the young guys. I know a couple older guys that repeatedly break sticks, cymbals, heads and brag and laugh about it. When I try to explain that the reason they are breaking equipment is because they are striking with the stick incorrectly they change the subject. Some people choose to never learn.
