Is that a 70's kit, when did Slingerland make these? Would it be inappropriate to ask a vistalite question here? Did clear and blue vista's only have silver sparkle inlay in the hoops?

Slingerland's Phantom 50P was available for one year only... 1973. As previously stated, it came in a clear finish only. Attached is a picture of a 50P kit, with all original Slingerland hardware and Zildjian cymbals, that sold on eBay back in August of 2010... for $2,225!

Definitely not as popular as Ludwig's Vistalite series, but a cool offering by Slingerland none-the-less!

Just to be technically accurate, no one made "Vistalites" but Ludwig, and it was a trademarked brand. Anything else, even RCI with b/o Ludwig badges, are acrylic drums, not "Vistalites".

My kit:
Ludwig Vistalite Big Beat set consisting of:
14” X 22” bass, 16” X 16” floor tom, 8” X 12” ride tom, 9” X 13” ride tom, 5” X 14” snare
Ludwig 201 Speed King bass drum pedal
Ludwig 1124 Spur-lok hit-hat with Ludwig Standard Paiste 14” cymbals (760 & 770 gr) with ching-ring
Two Ludwig Standard S-270 cymbals stands
18” Zildjian crash cymbal (1550 gr) and 20” Zildjian ride cymbal (2130 gr) with CAMCO sizzler
Gibraltar motorcycle seat-style drum throne with backrest

Yup and Kleanex, xerox, and Rollerblades are all trademarked names too but we still know what you mean!
