I've seen several sets of this ilk before, ..drummers & other musicians don't like them. But, in general, people & audiences Love them ! (BTW, I don't think that the sellers disclosure of "many layers of polyurethane" is much of a selling point)

I would think they're salvageable, but the project would be large, & it would be a Frankenstein set. (a lot depends on the reserve price))

They're maybe collectable to some.

Years from now....decades......vintage drum folk....like you and I....may well think these are kind of cool. I like the drums.

what's there to save? i think they are really cool just the way they are, but thats just me too. remember i'm the one making the tie dye kit. LOL

In this case, who cares? It's a set of orphans that is now matched by the artwork. There doesn't seem to be anything there that is particularly rare and collectable anyway. Keller snare and tom, Yamaha BD... so what? Slingerland marching snare converted to a tom probably wouldn't bring much in it's original state anyway and a Gretsch floor tom with wrong (I think) but cool teardrop lugs and wrong rims is only worth the value of the shell if there's no extra holes or plugs. But I'll bet they sound great and someone did a great job of making these orphans into a family through the artwork and I think it's pretty darn cool. I mean... who doesn't love Felix The Cat? and how about that Babs Bunny? I mean if I was a rabbit I'd....Oh wait, this is the family channel. Great artwork anyway! It's not like someone did this to a Trixon Speedfire.

Well on another note, can't wait to see your tie-dye kit. I keep looking for the next installment. Cool project.

This kit is cool I guess although kind of eccentric.

thanks for your intrest in my project. am waiting for the fabric to get here, should be sometime next week, then i can post the next steps.

i also agree 100% with Hemidemisemiquaver, pretty much how i look at it too, he was just able to word it for me,lol. corse i usually do like what most others don't, doesn't take much to please me.

Thanks Robyn, Lookin' forward to seeing the tyedye set. Glad you chose the 1st pattern. The second one was cool but would probably be difficult to line up with such a particular pattern.
