Awesome kit, I like BP!
Thanks guys! Will have to wait until the middle of next month to get my hands on them (good thing I paid for them), as I just received an email from work...headed directly to Africa for two weeks when I leave here...uggggh!

Surface: you should be happy, it's warm there and you will get more hunger for the kit :)

Very true! DOH
Talk about a transitional bass drum - I've never seen a keystone kit with those spurs, but I suppose it was entirely possible.
Rocketman, those spurs were introduced in mid to late 1969. I have not seen too many 1969 sets past may 1969 but the ones I saw had them. I want to say I saw one from July 1969.
A friend of mine from high school picked up a 1969 Ludwig downbeat in blue sparkle with those spurs from a daddy's junky music store for $300!
He was not a collector and decided pearl spurs would be better suited. I begged him not to do it but he did anyway. I cry when I think of that set. He later sold them and those damn spurs killed the value as well as the look. Makes me sick to think about.
For some reason I have seen a lot of 1969 Ludwigs made in march of 1969. My mod orange set is march 26th 1969 and I have seen a handful of others from march. Kind of odd...
Wow that's a real beauty! Just from those pics I would guess from maybe July 1969 to the end of the year if there are date stamps. Original front bass drum head too. You will love it!
Picked the kit up today, serials are close 706xxx-709xxx. Date stamp in bass is June 3, 1969, and June 4, 1969 in the floor tom. You NAILED it! Thanks!

Good to hear you're back state-side, and I'm excited with you over the drums!
