Weird Ludwig color -- "Blue and Olive Oyster"?

Loading...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ludwig-Classic-Maple-Blue-and-Olive-Oyster-3-Piece-Drum-Set-13-16-24-/181103504011?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a2a9c2a8b

Wild color, never saw it before I stumbled on this auction... Is it unusual/rare?

Thanks.

It was introduced this year at NAMM. Not my thing, but others may like it!

I've never seen that wrap before either...I would say that it is definitely not a common wrap...

I just noticed that the auction said "New" for condition...This must be one of ludwig's new wrap colors???

Cheers

I figured with the rounded edge to the badges that it was a late 70s thing but with modern mounts installed?

Ooops!

If the moderator wants to move this to the General Drum section then, that's cool. I thought it was late 70s.

A lug and a tom mount in one!

That's a love it or hate it finish, kinda neat though with blending the blue/olive badge colours with a WMP.

And it's got curved bass drum spurs! Hooray for that

I cant tell if I love that wrap just because Ive never seen it before, or if I dislike it the more I look at it!

I may just love it!

I like it. Very different. Almost like a multi-theater-camo take. Cool.

thats a neat item that ludwig has designed. it is adjustable on the back side to fit different size lug patterns(not big enough for clubdate lugs though. could be great for adding floor tom legs to a drum without having to drill holes. lugs/mount all together.
