drummer69 - That one looks more like a supra that had pitted chrome sanded off, than it does a 10 lug acro with Imperials. Look at the Imperial on the left of the badge. (left side of photo) It was sanded/stripped of the chrome right down to the pot-metal. The Imperials on either side are pitted. Looks like somebody 'started' stripping the entire drum of chrome and never quite 'finished' the job. It's a nice old supra, but I don't think it's an oddball factory drum. There -are- some acro's out there with ten lugs and I've seen some with Imperials, all 'factory', but I don't think that's what you have there.

Hope I'm not being Capt. Bringdown... just reporting what my eyes see in the photo.

Hi Vintagemore,

I will have to look into that more.

I was told that the lug that you are talking about is actually an older lug that is nickle plated. but is strange now that you say it that they would loose a lug.

Muffler i can see because they were often taken off.

there is probably a way to tell drumr69. the original acros look like bare aluminum, yet they have what appears to be an anodized finish. when you take a metal polish to them, they don't turn the rag black at all. if yours is a supra that had the chrome sanded off to the aluminum, that same process would turn your rag black. of course if someone clear coated the aluminum after that fact, you still wouldn't know for sure.

I'm sorry man, but this is -not- a 'factory' finish. You can clearly see the lines/streaks, left by the sanding. It's lumpy and uneven. That one Imperial lug was sanded down to the bare metal, it is not nickel plated.

Even though it's only based on a photo, I'm pretty certain about this one. Compare the shell to Marks acro which has a -factory- finish.
