Hey guys, paid for a keystone badge 60's Black Panther kit and only saw pictures before I had to leave the country on business for three weeks. My question is....there is keystone badged timbales mounted as the ride toms. Is this an ordered option, or is it modified? Thanks for all the input, as it is greatly appreciated.

Nevin,

The Ludwig "Carioca" kit made its debut in the 71 Catalog, which would mean B/O badges. However, the first one of these kits I ever saw had keystone badges, so catalog-or-not, the set was available that way at least during the 1969 "transitional" period... and yes, the timbales were standard.

See it here:

Thanks Bill as always! I cant wait to get back and pick them up to get a closer look at condition. Comes with fiber cases, so hope they were taken care of.

One more thing -- the set I'm remembering also had the folding spurs... which were still the thing in the 67 catalog. So this set is probably late 60s.

You're not picking that up in Topeka are you? I know it was a LONG time ago, but that's where the set I'm referring to was...

Wow that's a real beauty! Just from those pics I would guess from maybe July 1969 to the end of the year if there are date stamps. Original front bass drum head too. You will love it!
