Wurlitzer snare drum info Last viewed: 1 second ago

I inherited a snare drum from my Father In Law. I don't know much about it other that it has Wurlitzer stamped on it and I think it is from the 30'3 or 40's. Can someone please tell me more about this drum? How old is it? Is it any good? Is it worth anything?

Thanks in advance!

As Blair stated this is probably A Leedy made drum for Wurlitzer. Wurlitzer did not make drums. Leedy made most of wurlitzer drums for them, what size is it 4x15"?

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

Cool drum and cool you got it from your father in-law. Is it Nickel over steel? Original calf skins? Love the tube lugs on the shallow profile!

Nice drum,I think it could be 20's or early 30's ,I think Leedy was the first to make a self aligning lug (lug casing with insert with threads) I cna't remember but I think early 30's or late 20's

From what I can see in the photos, it appears to be a lower line early 20's drum made by Leedy.

It measures 5" including the top and bottom rings and 15 - 15 1/2" diameter. (Forgive me if I don't know the proper termonology. I am a guitarist quickly learning about drums!) So I guess it's what you would call 4" x 15". It definately has a cool vintage look and a great sound to it.

Yes, It is nickle over steel and has the skins he put on it maybe 70 years ago - still in great shape.
