Greetings Ladies and Gents---I'm new to the forum, so please be gentle. I have a question and I'm a bit confused about a set of Rogers, Dave Clark Londoners (Dyna-Sonic snare), I bought in 1968. I played professionally for many years in and around St. Louis, the midwest and points hither and yon, but quit cold-turkey one night in 1984, put the set in its cases and just recently pulled them out and set them up. I'm the only owner; and after pulling the set out, putting new heads on and setting them up, I took an interest in the origin and history of the drums; hence, I'm on this forum---
I don't know why I never paid attention when I was playing, but of the two side toms, the floor tom and the kick, three different locations are identified. The 12-inch tom indicates Dayton, the 13-inch tom indicates Fullerton, the floor tom indicates Cleveland, and the kick indicates Dayton. The 13-inch (Fullerton) tom has the only label that has not had the factory pre-printed label identifying the model as a "Holiday" changed. All of the other drums have had the factory model "Powertone" print blackened out, and "Holiday" is hand-written above the blackened out "Powertone" printing.
There is no distinguishable difference in the materials, construction, edges or hardware between the drums. What was I sold in 1968, and not that it makes any difference 45 years later, what does any of it mean? Thanks for your reading patience and feedback.
